Hello
After receiving some information from a relative I believe that my GGrandmother Angeline Roberson/Robinson Pack and her husband Eugene Pack were Cherokee Freedman. I think there may be a Creek connection because I discovered a Leo Roberson on the Dawes Roll. He was Creek and half-blood. My grandma Angeline named one of her children Leo and according to family oral history she was half-blood herself. No one is certain on the tribe. There is also a family tradition of naming children after grandparents aunts and uncles.
Is this just a strange coincedence? No one knows much about my granmother or grandfather's family or life before they wound up in South Carolina. Has anyone run across these surnames?
Thank you.
