Because of the close relationship that the Africans and Seminoles have had historically the rolls taken within this small but intact nation often include the names of both Seminoles by Blood and their African compatriots. They are not separated because the census rolls made in the Seminole Nation did not exclude persons based on color. Also note that the census counts were not as frequently in the Seminole nation throughout the post Civil War years as they were in the other nations.
