A FAKE TRIBE is a FAKE TRIBE!

Any group or person soliciting new "citizens" pretending to represent a NATION of people making up a "great seal" and calling themselves "Chief "anything (while they have been elected by NO ONE) still has the vestiges of being what it is-------a FAKE TRIBE!!!!!

Many persons are tricked into joining these "nations" for a fee of course. They represent nothing but an effort to get money from a gullible public many of whom are willing to pay if they can get a "membership card" that declares that they are some kind of Indian.

One does not need a card to be anything other than what they are. There are many persons of many backgrounds who have researched their history and do not need a card to declare that is what they are.

The "Fake Tribes" post was put up as a warning to those who have considered trying to "join the nation" when in reality they are joining nothing. Putting on native clothing does not make one any more Indian than simply wearing a kilt makes on Scottish!

Drawing a pretty seal calling oneself Chief Birdcloth (though on the day job the "chief" is still Johnnie Burns) causes no real harm to the public. But the moment that persons starts to invite members to join the ancient "nation" of the latest Cherokee- ___Tribe the public should be aware that they are joining the efforts of one who is exploiting the public.

Pride in one's ancestry is a different subject but the public deserves to be warned about charlatans and they do abound in large numbers and are growing daily.
