Kim. I do not agree with you. Many Native Americans DO NOT want to know their black cousins. I an 1/2 cherokee and 1/2 black. I go to the pow wows but I will not participate. They look at you like there is something wrong with you. I know. I go through that every time I go to a pow wow or to the reservations. I had many to wisper behind my back when I pass by "Is she one of us?" and some to ask me "What are you?" It seems that whites are more impressed with my mixture than the Native Americans. And YES they are into that mixing thing. Or else I would not be here! So be proud of your heritage (both Native and Black) but also be realistic.
