Halito(Hello)
I know this is a genealogy group so I'm sorry if my post isn't totally appropriate. I'm Choctaw and black. I knew my granddad(full-blood)and grew up hearing Choctaw spoken--I was raised with Indian ways. Kind of took for granted the fact that I was Indian I guess. I was just wondering why I never see more of us--black Indians-- at gatherings since so many seem to know of their heritage even if not which nation. Granted I go mostly to traditional powwows but even at intertribals open to the public I don't see many of us. I would just encourage everyone to make our presence known. Indian country needs to know our black cousins! This is a great group. I'll keep reading.
