I'm glad the information was helpful. Your search is my search. Jo Ann Curls Page is authoress of the book 'Index to the Cherokee Freedman Enrollment Cards of the Dawes Commission 1901-1906', Heritage Books, Inc., 1996. I bought two copies (one for home and one for the road)on-line at www.heritagebooks.com. The Index list 4376 names on the accepted roll, 2686 names on the rejected roll, and 712 names on the Freedman minor roll. What's curious about Easter and Emily it appears they both were at first rejected and then Easter was accepted. I'll look at those applications this Wednesday. By all means keep up with the owners. Oh, you'll find a slave owner by the name of Ross, one was John Ross; a Chief of the Cherokees at one time. Hmmm, I have a 94 year old first cousin living in Tahlequah whose last husband was named Ross by which she had two sons. I'm going to put you on an accepted card yet!
