Re: Elijah "Lige" Rider
In Response To: Re: Elijah "Lige" Rider ()

Hey Shawn

Some of my research is centered in Indian Territory also. On Cherokee Freedman enrollment card #R103 Sarah Starr related that her owner was Polly Rider. Here's the connection on the owners side: my ancestors were owned (in the main) by Jesse and Sarah Walker Starr Mayfield. Sarah Walker Starr and Mary Pauline Starr were sisters, the daughters of Caleb Starr and Nancy Harlan. Mary Pauline Starr married Austin Rider (of Virginia) in southeastern Tn. Austin and Mary Pauline, its reported, voluntarily removed from Tn. (McMinn County I suspect) to Indian Territory in 1832. These Riders may have a connect to your Riders and therefore the Freedmen Starrs, Mayfields, Riders, Harlans, and other Freedmen connected to the aformentioned owners may have Kin connection in addition to the Kith connection. I'm putting you on a "doubtful' card homes. If I can *prove up* our Kin connection I'll holla at chew.

Safety, Healing, Liberation, and Justice.
