Re: Surname Portee

Mr. Cornsilk - As you know many tribes have very little if any formal documentation. Thus determining orgin has always been a bit of a trick when it comes to native americans. But DNA matching is fool and oral history proof so to speak. I am a relative the people you are attempting to debunk. We to have native american blood according to the markers. The Portees origins a bit more dubious some say they were nobles some say they fled France under unclear circumstances. The Portees, Outens and other clans are very well-known and respected in South Carolina. I went to a family reunion there when I was 13 and if you notice all the different hues ranging from black to the white with blue eyes like my cousin Marion, you'd understand that A. This families story is fairly were cemented throughout generations both black and white and B. There are unmistakable native features coursing through the bloodline...again the origins we aren't 100% sure but the nesting is conclusive.
