Re: Joe Hutton, Sr./Creek Freedmen
In Response To: Re: Joe Hutton, Sr./Creek Freedmen ()
Where can I view and make a copy of the information that you noted? Also do you know that if Iola was 1/8 creek if there is an allotment card or roll number? And what that mean her descendants were benefactors of any kind? Iola would be my great grandmother. Also do you know where did the Huttons come before they were in Oklahoma? What were the names of the brothers and sisters of Henry Hutton? Do you know what is the relationship between Joe Hutton Sr and Iola Hutton if any? My grandmother had to help raise her siblings because her mother died young. Her husband was Arthur Burkhalter. Do you know anything about the Burkhalters or the Hills in eastern Oklahoma (Towns: Vernon, an all-black town, and Okmulgee). Also my grandmother told me her ancestors owned about 300+ acres in eastern Oklahoma near Lake Eufaula in McIntosh County? Much of the land was sold to the Army Corps of Engineers to build the Lake. Where can I go to get documentation that this transaction occurred? Also if there are resources to make the most of collecting information from family reunions please provide. Please provide any weblinks, books or building names to visit in the US for this information as well. Thank you in advance for your help. Tambra
