Interesting that you should say that scientific research is the best means of understanding family history...If you thoroughly read my post I mentioned several times that I was in the process of researching this information with facts. I mentioned several questionably spelled names...a primary indication that the process of research takes quite some time and can only be validated by thorough investigation of several different lineages on both sides of ones family...primarily the paternal side. As far as the aristocrats that I mentioned...does it bother you that a nation can have wealth? Haven't people of color been lied to enough in being told that they have no wealth to speak of when the exact opposite is true? Africans were royalty from the beginning of time...the Cherokee Nation has been aristocratic since their beginnings...would you expect a people so familiar with their land and so in tune with their sense of self to be anything but graceful? Perhaps you take the word "arisocrat" and give it boundaries when it has several positive meanings based on its etymology. I'm not sure why you feel so roused by my email but I will say that without oral history, the traditions of the cherokee nation would be certainly lost. I believe that encouraging fact, not myth, is the best way to resolve possibility. Having said that, please feel free to ignore any future postings from me should they cause you such disdain, I would like to, however, continue to communicate with those who have any information that would be of aid to me on this loooong journey I have set before me to challenge myth and comprehend truth.
