Why his sir name is Jefferson, I don't know yet, but researching.
His father was Jeffery Mcnac, maybe he took his father's first name, or maybe his mother's maiden name was Jefferson, don't know yet.

You mention John Jefferson and Melinda (Linda) Jefferson, I looked at all their Dawes cards and found they all state Canadian Colored. Do you have something showing he was Tuskegee?
