Re: Dunn Roll vs. Dawes Roll
In Response To: Re: Dunn Roll vs. Dawes Roll ()

Continuing on with the subject of who was placed on the Dawes Roll

Cooper Davis, Old Series Card #68 indicates that his mother was Vina Davis "dead" from 1898 census card #1044. This card "void" meant that Cooper Davis, was transferred to the Freedmen roll. Cooper's father was Joe Davis. No mention of Joe Davis on this card.

It is strange that Cooper Davis and Cato Davis had the same father, but Cooper's blood was 3/4 Indian blood and no mention of Cato Davis' blood (same father).

Cato Davis, cc#1026 and Cooper Davis, cc#1020
