Posters I see no one has made any comments about this post so I am still letting readers know that freedmen were placed on the freedmen roll because of their status as slaves. If the slave was a female/male, the freedmen roll is where they were placed.

Only if you were an Indian female/male you were placed on the by blood roll.

The children always followed the mother whichever roll she was on. Even in cases where I have seen marriage between a freedmen and a by blood, the children followed the status of the mother.

I mainly do research for ancestors in the Creek nation so I have seen many records where freedmen families have been transferred from the by blood roll to the freedmen roll.
