It's too bad Creek freedmen descendants did not have a thorough knowledge of the differences in the wording of the 1866 Treaty for each tribe at the time of fighting for the citizenship of the Cherokee freedmen descendants.
Now the Creek Freedmen descendants seem to be without hope of obtaining citizenship, and no support from other freedmen descendants that have obtained their citizenship, as was promised.
It apparently was thought that if the Cherokee freedmen descendants won their citizenship according to the 1866 Treaty, that treaty would apply to all freedmen descendants (Creek, Choctaw), but not so!
