Re: Cherokee Freedmen Win Their Case in Federal Co

The descendants of Seminole freedmen are allowed citizenship within the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, though the Seminole nation is in violation of the treaty language pertaining to equal rights of the Indians...
The other point made that the descendants of the Creek Freedmen would lose in federal court fighting for their treaty rights is ridiculous. You mentioned because the Creeks changed their constitution? I remind you that the Cherokee changed their constitution as well and lost. These constitutions cannot violate federal law nor treaties. Yes, it will cost money to fight this. However, let's be clear, the Creek freedmen like the Cherokee and Seminole freedmen must get the Department of Interior to fight this case in court for them. The DOI won both the Seminole and Cherokee freedmen cases. I suggest the Creek freedmen lobby those in Congress and the White House to have the DOI stop federal services to the Creek Nation until they abide by the wording of the 1866 Creek treaty...it will either force the Creeks to the right thing or they will sue the DOI...the DOI must be made to represent the Creek freedmen in court and if the DOI stop federal services I can guarantee you this will in up in federal court.
