Posters, I would like to see Creek freedmen descendants change their approach dealing with citizenship, and stop trying to prove they have Indian blood. Citizenship was granted to our ancestors because of the 1866 Treaty, alone (no blood mentioned). Concentrate on the Treaty.
Also, census cards are not being read correctly to prove an ancestor had Indian blood. Referring back to the Old Series cards helps, plus other supporting documents.
I have tried to explain many times, that it is the mother, (NOT the Indian father) that determines which roll. And, regardless of which roll our ancestors were found on, (freedmen or by blood) they were citizens.
