Ketch Barnett and Harry Island

Angela,
I am looking for information on Ketch Barnett and Harry Island during the Civil War. I see Harry Island is listed on the 1870 Loyal Creek Claims as a refugee. Was he hired by the US to interpret with the Creek Nation during this time?

I do not see Ketch Barnett on the 1870 Loyal Creek Claims. Do you know what he was doing during the Civil War? I know that he was a slave of Ben Marshall according to his grandson's (Alfred Barnett) interview.

I know that Reverend Ketch Barnett, Harry Island and Cow Tom went to D.C. to fight for the Creek "Freedmen" rights. Trying to determine their activity during the Civil War.
