Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Originally, citizenship was based on the 1866 Treaty, however, illegal practices were instituted to deny the so-called freedmen of their basic rights. Now we have played into the hands of the oppressor by sanction the documents they used to disallow the freedmen their rights..
In 1979, the Creeks alleged to have voted to remove the freedmen from the Creek Nation as citizens. No freedmen were allowed to vote on retaining their citizenship. The whole process was implemented to exclude freedmen from receiving pending Federal benefits.
