Re: Does Blood Really Matter?

I believe you and Allen have missed my point, although a blood quantum, this quantum means nothing as far as citizenship in the Creek nation. There was no by blood relative to confirm, no documentation, on the final by blood roll. Can Sarah's 1/4 blood quantum get her descendants citizenship today? No.
When I get a chance I will post other Creek freedmen families that were transferred because of having documentation of a by blood relative on the final roll. Just because there is documentation of a blood quantum for a freedmen does not make it true and then again maybe it was true. The Dawes Commission did whatever they wanted during the Dawes Commission period.
If a freedmen descendant believes that he is a mixed blood so be it, but being a mixed blood will not get a descendant citizenship (rolls final). A lot of Creek records have been lost or destroyed that might have given proof.
