Hi, Actually, it's not a matter of whether Pearson is a Native name because the original Native Americans didn't have European names like that. They later took those names or had those names given to them either by marriage or simply because white folks couldn't spell or pronounce the actual Native names. That said, I'm a Pearson descendant. My line was Quakers from England, but once in American - some did marry Native Americans. My great-great grandmother Emily Pearson McLain was part Choctaw - not because Pearson was a Native name but because Pearsons from England married Native Americans. Messages In This Thread
