Don't know about Mr. Jones but I met Alex Haley in 1988 at a conference and gave him a copy of my first book "The Black Seminole Indians of Texas". He told me that I was writing the story he had always wanted to write but after "Roots" was released, it kept him so busy he was never able to write the story of his father who was a Black Indian from Alabama. I have never had time to trace this info he gave me. Hope this helps.
