Re: ellis vann
In Response To: Re: ellis vann ()

I am glad I could help. Lastly, the following census cards are for your ancestors I have researched (all Cherokee freedmen) are:

Ellis Vann, cc#808
John Buffington stated that Ellis parents were Rachel Vann and William Vann, both dead.

John Buffington, cc#759
his wife - Mary (Chase) Buffington

Eliza Ledman, cc#760 (slave owner - William Buffington)
her husband - James Ledman

Lucy Morgan, cc#797 (slave owner - William Buffington)
her husband - Henry Morgan. Don't know if he was a freedmen or a by blood, no research for him.

Gus and Mary Buffington were the parents of John Buffington, Eliza Ledman and Lucy Morgan and possibly Rachel.
