I am an Abram and also concerned about where the Abram name originated. Maybe someone has the answer. I was thinking it was a name taken from bible.

Your family of Abrams connect with mine ( the Boynton Abram family). Henry Gaines that married Margaret Abram, was the brother of my great grandmother Lucinda (Gaines) Abram. Lucinda was married too Boynton Abram, Chickasaw freedmen, cc#489. Margaret Gaines can be found on cc#7, Chickasaw freedmen. Also Margaret was the sister of Ed Abram that married Amanda (Stevenson) Abram. Amanda is on the Chickasaw by blood roll, cc#610.

I have always wondered who Charley Abram's parents were (I have never been too sure). It seems that the Abram familiies intermarried with each other.
