Hello...I am doing some research on the Portee surname. My Great Grandmother is Elvenia Carter (Portee is her maiden). She is one of the four daughters of Ruebin Portee and Corlester Portee (Fortson is her maiden). The other daughters were Louis, Daisy and Violet. My great grandmother Elvenia and great aunt Louis are the only living. My great great grandfather Reubin Portee is brother of Samuel, James, William and I believe their sister was Sarah Portee. Their parents, my great great great grandmother and grandfather, were Margaret Portee (Harrell is her maiden) and Wiley Portee.

If there is anymore information on any of these names, especially Wiley Portee and Corlester Portee, it would be greatly appreciated.
