Samuel J. Hayes of Okmulgee was a District Judge for the Muscogee Nation. He was also appointed with others in 1899 to a"National committee to aid the Dawes Commission in the identification and enrollment of citizens of the Muskogee Nation , to prevent the admission to rolls of the Creek Nation , the names of all persons whose rights to Creek citizenship is questioned" among other things. I have numerous books & articles about SJH from my grandmother but they are a distance away.
