Dr. King's Oklahoma City Parade

On Monday, Jan. 18Th 2010, Oklahoma City will have its Dr. Martin Luther King Parade and Celebration.

At noon, Freedmen descendants will gather at 7Th street and Robinson to march with the Freedmen's float entry. If you are a Freedmen descendant or a friend of the 'fight', please join other descendants in the this parade. Bring your protest signs, bring your family, bring your friends. If you would like to volunteer for the float, please contact Rev. David May at professormay@msn.com or 405-899-6243.

If are Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole or Creek Freedmen come join the march and celebration.

The parade will start promptly at 2pm.
Suggestions for signs should either be a Dr. King quote, your Dawes enrollee's name and roll number or a statement of support for Freedmen's rights.
Mvto.

PS...the city of Tulsa is having the same parade on the 18Th...if you can't make it to OKC, please attend the Tulsa Dr. King parade. Show up with your signs. I believe Ruth Nash and friends will have some organized staging for Tulsa.
I will try to get more information from Mrs. Nash and post it before this event.
