I know your family members. My gggreat grandmother was Louisa Portee. Howard Portee's parents were Samuel Portee and Liza Wilson and yes, he was from Kershaw. Before marrying Liza, he married Della Chavis (a ggreat aunt of mine). Samuel's parents were Wiley Portee and Margaret Harrell (she's a gggreat aunt of mine as well). Wiley's parents are Huriah Portee and Martha (??), and Huriah's father is Howell Portee.

I emailed you offline. I believe that you know a lot of my Harrell, Harris, some Chavis and Fullenwider relatives in Detroit. I believe Dorsey (brother of your great grand Beulah Portee Gipson) lived in Detroit as well. We all all attend the same reunions.
