In Response To: Re: HAWKINS, Coahuila, Mexico ()
How do I order the BOD, "The Black Seminole Indians of Texas?" Amazon show's the book out of print. I'd like to stay abreast of the "Muskoga: The Seminole Indians of Mexico & Texas" book and DocuVid. Have you a website, listserve or blog?
I'm familiar w/ Henry Gordon (abt. 1830) from GA, who serve w/ the Seminole Af/Indian Scouts. He married Dolly Bruner. Along w/ several other families, they eventually emigrated to IT during the mid-1880; briefly lived in the Chickasaw Nation, and subsequently settled in Seminole Country. Their son Essau was killed w/ 'lil Ceasar Bruner in a shoot out w/ deputy U.S. Marshalls in Brunertown in 1892.
Is the Alfred Gordon (c. 1880s) audio-interviewed the mate/ husband of Julia Pickens, Chickasaw Frd.? When was the interview was conducted? Do you know if if this Alfred was a descendant of Henry & Dolly
A few years ago, I spoke w/ a grChild of Henry and Dolly's grChilld. It was a wonderful opportunity. This family is connected to so many Creek/ Seminole IT families, it's hard to fathom: Bowlegs, Bruner, Carolina, Grayson, Hawkins, Lincoln, Nero, Pompey, Hawkins, Hutton, Sango, Warrior et al!
I lots of questions. Looking fwd. to reading your BOD, upcoming book and seeing the documentary.
