Calling all cousins:
Much is known about our Portee side of the family (and I have pictures). I am seeking anyone with information about the following people: John and Harriet Portee (my g.g.g.grandparents). To their union eight children were born; Pat, Harold, Lewis, Viola (my g.g.grandmother), Mary, Lib (possibly Lisabeth),Hattie? (we called her Aunt aunt), and Jack. My g.g.grandmother Viola married John Meeks. They had three children. They were Joseph Meeks, Edna Meeks (my g.grandmother), and Berneice Meeks. Edna Meeks married Clarence Adams. They had six children; Fernando, Clarence, Dale, Ruth Micky (Margaret), and Katherine Viola Mae (grandmother) who was called Vi or Mae most of her life. If you recognize any of these names please write me back. They lived in Lawrence County, Illinois for many years.
