Is your family fromLawrence County, Illinois. I have an Issac Portee & Elizabeth Gions married April 11th, 1812 in Somerset, Logan County, KY. I found them in 1830 in Lawrence County, but not in 1840.

Elizabeth parents are possibly Issac & Clata Goin (Gowan), my ggggg was also from Somerset, Logan County, KY. Parents Issac & Clata
