Re: Lost Ancestry
In Response To: Re: Lost Ancestry ()

HELLO EVERYONE,

IT'S VERY INTERESTING TO HEAR THAT SO MANY OF YOU HAVE TRIED 'PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER' ON THE SIORDIA NAME. AFTER READING ALL THE REPLIES I COULD ONLY HOPE THAT MINE MIGHT ADD TO THE PUZZLE...

MY GRANDFATHER WAS LEON SIORDIA (b. early 1900s?) WHO WAS VERY LIGHT-SKINNED AND HAD BLUE EYES. HE MARRIED MARIA VENEGAS DELGADILLO WHO WAS BORN ABOUT 1916 IN SAN NICOLAS DE IBARRA, CHAPALA, JALISCO. I KNOW THAT THEY LIVED IN TORREON AND THAT THEY HAD A FEW CHILDREN (I DON'T KNOW IF I HAVE THEM ALL): RIGOBERTO (MY FATHER), ENRIQUE, JUAN, CARLOS, LUPE, CARMEN, AND JULIA AS FAR AS I KNOW ALL MY AUNTS (EXCEPT JULIA) AND UNCLES MARRIED AND HAD CHILDREN. I KNOW ONE UNCLE (CARLOS) LIVED IN LONG BEACH, CA FOR QUITE SOME TIME. ALL OTHERS I THINK MAY BE IN EITHER CENTRAL OR NORTHERN CALI AREAS (SANTA MARIA) AND IN ENSENADA.

MY GRANDFATHER WAS KILLED SOME TIME AGO BY A VEHICLE AS HE WALKED DOWN A ROAD IN ENSENADA, B.C. (THIS IS WHERE I BELIEVE MY GRANDMOTHER STILL LIVES....?). THE ONLY STORIES I HAVE ARE THOSE THAT MY MOTHER SHARED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS (MY FATHER AND HER DIVORCED WHEN I WAS 5) AND SHE TOO, SAYS THAT THE NAME 'SIORDIA' COMES FROM SPAIN.

IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS (OR IS!) A PART OF THIS FAMILY, I AM INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT OUR FAMILY.
