Yes, a very interesting read.
I haven't and probably won't get into Sen. Obama's genealogy, but this article is a "stretch".
It seems to try and link Sen. Obama's possible Cherokee roots through slavery and the enslaved African experience with the Cherokee people.
Possible, but highly unlikely as Sen. Obama's African paternal genealogy is East African, today's Kenya. An area not heavily involved in the slave trade.
If there is a Cherokee connection it would seem to be more likely through his mother's early American pioneer lines. Now the question becomes...did the descendants of those ancestors mate with enslaved Africans here in America?
There are more questions in the article than answers to Sen. Obama's possible Cherokee heritage.
