Hi Tonio it is good to hear from someone, I asked my Grandmother and she is not familiar with the name Hollis Portee, but 9 times out of 10 we are closely related, my grandmother is from Coolumbia South Carolina, her Mother was Bessie harris Portee (1897-1990) and Howard Portee (1897-1981 or 2?) Grandma said that Howards Father Samuel Portee(?) had a brother named Howell Portee that lost touch with the family, so perhaps Hollis may be a descendant of Howell. I did look on ancestry.com and Hollis Portee came up, He was from South carolina, I think Kershaw or Richland and he passed in 1971, i also saw some info on Bessie H. Portee ( Unfortunately I do not have a membership yet so I could not delve any deeper. But please keep in contact with me I would love to connect with the family. It seems as if only the older ones kept in touch with one another, perhaps us Youngins could start doing the same.
