More Adopted Whites - Cherokee by blood Rolls

Analysis of the "Cherokee by blood" section of the Dawes rolls and associated Dawes census cards proves that "adopted whites" were listed on this section of the Dawes rolls by the Dawes Commission. Some of the 'adopted whites' on the "Cherokee by blood roll" - whom the Dawes commission identified as adopted whites - whose descendants are not in danger of losing their citizenship due to the "freedmen removal bill" championed by the Principal Chief include those below:

Henry Edmonds - Census card 10180
Catherine King - Census Card 10962
Charles Lasley - Census card 9452
Samuel Wheeler - Census Card 10968

Charles Lasley as of September 1902 was only 4 years old according to Dawes Commission books. Clearly not an "intermarried white" citizen, since he was not even born in 1875 much less married.

Some of the adopted white children listed on the Cherokee by blood Minor Children section of the dAwes rolls include: (ages listed for 1906)
Robert Byrd - Census card - 4913 age 3
George Martin - Census Card 4915 - Age 3
Joseph Sears - Census Card 4919 - Age 1
Hazel Jones - Census card 4922 - Age 1

If any of the above listed persons is your ancestor, the Smith/Ketcher proposed freedmen removal constitutional amendment if passed will not take away your Cherokee nation tribal membership.
