Census Records Online Search for JEFFERSON FAMILY
Eli, Thank you for everything and I am very greatful that you took the time out to e mail back with A response.
The connection to my ancestor:Douglass Jefferson Roll No.168...is a DIRECT BLOODLINE to me. Douglass is my great great grandfather and his sons son is my grandfather,(who I am very blessed to have with me), IS my line of contact...so far with information on birthplaces and ages he is good at, other records I would need to obtain with Census Records, marriage records..etc. Realy, all I need for my proof is Birth Certificates to SHOW Relation to the Ancestor on the roll. But even then Eli..the "BLOODLINE THING" to ENROLL is still the problem. I spoke with someone in the family and it was stated that... if Census Records are DOCUMENTED verifying a PERCENTAGE OF BLOOD then an enrollment can take place.
The reason I keep going back to BLOODLINE PERCENTAGE "DOCUMENTED" is because as stated before in the first e mail..I was told (Correction on my behalf) by A rep from The Bureau of Indian Affairs in Okmulgee OK (Genealogy Dept)..that PERCENTAGE HAS TO BE DOCUMENTED SOMEWHERE ON RECORDS in order to have CDIB card or to be enrolled as a citizen of Creek Nation.
You know Eli..I do not know any of my family members that are Enrolled...either because they are to Old and are not able to do the research needed, or Young and will not make the time...But You know what Eli, I am 24yrs of age... and for my grandfather my children mysel as well as others...I WILL..I will make the time to research so that my childrens children to come may not have to.
Eli, even if my great great grandfathers records does not show any blood. It would be very good to still be (recognized) included as evan a "DECENDANTS OF A FREEDMAN" along with other brothers and sisters of the Creek Nation and any other information would be greatly appreciated.
Eli, Thank You Greatly
