I am curious who among the Choctaw and Chickasaw freedmen have had their DNA tested and is it posted online with 23&me or Ancestry?

I ask because recently a researcher contacted me because we share a "distant" ancestor and it may have a significant tie to some of my research.

That got me to thinking has anyone else done the test and have they been linked to other freedmen descendants they were not aware of?

Personally I would love to see more freedmen get themselves of family members tested so we can possibly determine how our families blend and intersect.

From a lot of my research it is evident that the folks who lived in the freedmen communities outside of Ardmore, OK like Milo, Newport, Woodford and Berwyn have a lot of familial ties that are documented and some like the one I just discovered yet to be fully documented.

In this instance the connection is very significant if I am right about the connection because it may show how my great grandmother was the daughter of a Chickasaw male.

For that matter I would love to know who is a descendant of the claimants on Equity Case 7071 and have they had their DNA tested?

If you are "seriously" interested in pursuing this further, send me an email.

I would appreciate it if you included DNA or Bettie's List in the subject box. I delete all mail without a subject heading.
