I know about the Gordon's (I even have an audio tape interview of Dr. Hancock and Afred Gordon. The Gordon's originally escaped from Georgia and settled in the Sierra Madre mountains with other southeastern Blacks who used the Underground Railroad into Mexico. The Gordons were already in Mexico when John and Wildcat and the Seminoles arrived (1850). Just as the Hawkins Daniel, Wilson, et al.
