Slave Schedules were published for GA during the 1850s and 1860s with the slave owners listed by counties. The ages and gender of each of their slaves and the total number of their slaves were recorded. Color was also listed as either Black or Mullatto. No first names of slaves are given. I do not know if these special census schedules were done before 1850. I have only used the schedules for GA in 1850. I suppose that this data was needed to determine total state populations for figuring the state's number of representatives in Congress, even though slaves were not voters. These records are on microfilm.
