This is an 1801 listing of some of the slaves belonging to John Randolph of Roanoke.

This listing has some individuals who were freed by John Randolph's Will in 1833. The Will was contested and the slaves were not granted their freedom until 1846

note: at the end of this listing are persons designated as "Free". Were they "freed" an remained on the plantation to be near "family"?
