The 1860 Slave Schedule for Hampshire County, Virginia (Now in West Virginia) includes names of the enslaved. The 1850 schedule does not include names. At the time that the census was taken in 1860 Hampshire Couty had a toal population of 13,913......12,478 white, 222 FPOC and 1,213 slaves. The list was transcribed by Cheryl Singhal and appears in the Journal of the AAHGS Vol 17, Number 2, 1998. Example:
