Need help trying to find the Finley Plantation of Lafayette Alabama (chambers county) needing information on John Finley and Celie Murr Finley I saw on the 1850 census they were born in Georgia what I need to know is where they came from and who there parents were and how many slaves lived on the plantation and if possible I would like some pictures of that era on the slaves,,,,,,these are my great grand parents 4x and all the information I get can not go any futher then 1850.
.I was in lafayette last year and ran across a grave named William Finley in a all white cemetary some say he was the slave master this was a civil war headstone but they left me dry after that the Finley Plantation was located on county road 32 there still is the Finley Cemetary (black) and I take for granted the slave master must have gave this land to the slaves but even there no one seems to know anything its just all guessing...
I was even told to look up the finley's through the Auburn University site well I came up with nothing or either I did not know how to work the site but I'm sure this was not the case,Any and all information would be of great help
