The index I'm referring to is the Loudoun county will books abstracts, published by Patricia Duncan - which gave me the clues to pursue getting hard copy of the actual wills.

There is a genealogy writer who seems to specialize in wills from both Powhatan and Goochland - Benjamin B. Weisiger - his books are published by Willow Bend - you might want to contact him directly or see if he posts to county forums,since he seems to be immersed in research relating to these two counties.
