Wed 01-09 Chat - Public Libraries & Genealogy
9:00pm eastern; 6:00pm pacific
Dr. Dee Palmer Woodtor, Ph.D. writes in her book 'Finding A Place Called Home':
"...Public libraries in small towns often maintain genealogical collections that beginners will find very useful. Major libraries in larger cities may maintain nationally recognized genealogical collections like the New York Public Library, the Detroit Public Library, the Newberry Library, or the DAR Library in Washington, D.C...(pg 54)."
We'll chat about what research materials you can find at the library and how they may lead to your Ancestors!
It's possible that you will get more information there then on the Internet!
So trek down to your local public library branch (if you can, take a kid with you) and re-new that library card. It's free, a tremendous bargain!
Peace
