I am from Georgia. my mothers maiden name is prather. i am black. i want to know the connection between the prather plantation in kentucky and the prather plantation in toccoa, georgia. because i am a descendant of slaves and the plantation was up the road, it always stayed in my mind all my life. a family is still living in the plantation in my area. i visited the owner of the plantation and she was nice. The husband had long ago died, but the widow was still in the planatation- and she invited me to look in the house. i had a chance to look at pictures and she told me about the family. the first cabin that was built is still in place, and the place is like a page torn out of history. but i am interested in the kentucky prather plantation and the connection. i am currently in germany, but i just came from the states and from visiting prather plantation in my home town. my mother was born in toccoa, georgia; and my father in Warrenton,N.C. i was born in paterson new jersey where they met. i thought i would throw that in just for curiosity sake...
