My Lockett line were born in Georgia what state is unknown at this time. My question is what is the procedure for finding out which family of Locketts owned them in Georgia. My Grandfather D. Lockett was born in appo.1834 in Georgia, My grand mother Sallie who has two last names at this time Winfrey Darden born appox. 1842 in Ga.
by 1870 they were in Claiborne La Ido not know if they were still slaves at that time is there a way to find out?.
