I have been working of a project to preserve a stone slave quarters
in Loudoun County, Va for over 5 years now and there were 7 enslaved persons with the last name Simms and 6 with last name Henderson. Maybe
some of them maybe the ones who are kin to you. Let me get some more
information on the first names of your kin and maybe I can help you.
See our group in looking for descendants of the enslaved persons at this
site to help tell the real story of their life as people who once were held in bondage and what happen to them after they were freed.
Keep in mind that Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier and Loudoun families of slave owners moved us around from county to county all the time. Therefor your Simms and Hendersons could be on this list
of enslaved people who were on the inventory of this Slave owner who
had died and was leaving his property to the children of his deceased brother in 1843.
