Hi. I have been trying to find my ggg-grandfather, Willis Whitehurst, who was a slave in Pitt County, NC. He was born abt. 1815. First he was named Willis Jenkins (Jenkins slave owner), then his named was changed to Willis Whitehurst (Whitehurst slave owner). He is listed in "Somebody Knows My Name" (Pitt County, NC) as Willis Jenkins married to Jane Staton and also as Willis Whitehurst married to again Jane Whitehurst.
Willis (Wil or Willice) Whitehurst cohabitated with/had children with:
1). Mariah Barnhill
2). Adlini Porter
3). Jane Staton Whitehurst

I just wanted to know if you could see if Willis is listed in your book entitled "In Full Force & Virtue". He also had some brothers named Thaddeus, Cornelius, and Jethro Whitehurst.

I am searching for a Captain Andrews who is listed on the 1880 census of Martin County, NC. Captain Andrews was born abt. 1852 in NC.
