I have put the link to the website Big Tree Books which sells many genealogy books, and this will take you directly to the site for the purchase of "In Full Force and Virtue". There are many entries in it for the Nixon families and you might very well find many of your ancestors in it. Here are a couple of the shorter entries:
Whereas Your Petitioner under a Sence of Gratitude for the many Servises rendered, by a Certain Negroe Man by Name David aged near Sixty years formerly the Protery of Thos. Pritchard Decd. Which by Division of Sd Estate fell to me, and knowing the Intention of his former Master, to whom I was near by allyed by Marriage to his only Daughter where by my Mind being imprest with Tenderness towards the Sd Negro David with Desires that he might injoy his freedom the remainder part of his days, he being under his former Master found to be trusty, honest & careful of Sd Masters Intrest for which Merrit, he placed grate Confidence in him in a distinguishing manner Therefore it is the Ernist desire and request of Your Humble Petitioner that the Respected Cort now Siting might in there Clemmency grant that the Sd. Negro David might be free under the restrictions that other free Negros injoy in the state, which is the Sincere Desire and request of Your Humble petitioner. James Nixon We the subscribers being a long time acquainted with the above Sd Negro man David, and never knew to our knoledg or ever heard but that the Sd Negro bore a good Carrector, he being of peacable, Quiet, and Orderly disposition therefore we the Sd Subscribers Joine with above Petitioner-

The Within Bond not having been Signed at the last Term and it Appearing to the Court that Jas.Nixon is since dead it is Ordered that the Sd. Emancipation be Confirmed on the within Negro Isaac's giving Bond with Miles Jackson 7 Thos. Cartwright as Securities Test
State of North Carolina Pasquotank County, December Term 1805 Know all men by these presents that we Miles Jackson and Thomas Cartwright of the County aforesaid are held and firmly bound unto John Smithson Esquire Chairman of the County Cort of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, for the County aforesaid or to his Successors in Office, in the sum of One hundred pounds to which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves our heirs Executors and Administrators, Jointly and severally firmly by these presents, Sealed with our Seals and Dated the 5th day of December 1805.
