Please check to see if the following slaves are listed in that locale. {I would be interested in purchasing a copy if the counties I am researching (Columbus, Bladen, Edgecombe, Halifaxx) are listed.}

Hello,
I noticed your surname - LAWRENCE and your mention of Edgecombe county and my eyes lit up.
I have a set of paternal great-grandparents from Edgecombe county who were enslaved there prior to the Civil War. Peter and Louisa Lawrence, who were slaves belonging to a Henry Lawrence of that county.
Peter and Louisa are listed in "Somebody Knows My Name" as being married in Edgecombe county in 1866 after 19 years of cohabitation.
In the 1870 Census for Edgecombe they are found with eight (8) children: 1) Harris "Handy", 2)Flora, 3)Peter, Jr., 4)Elizabeth, 5)Lafaetta, 6)Louisa & 7/8) twins, Andrew & Mary "Molly".
They are also found, as a family group (by ages,not name), on the 1860 Slave Schedule with the five (5) oldest children as the slaves of Henry Lawrence.
If you think any of this "fits" I have much more information to exchange/share with you.
