: KY. Woodford Co. One of their children was my gg-grandmother
: Fannie (Redd) Black B:1886 spouse Charles Black B:1849 Lived in Lex.Ky.

Myrna,

Some of my folks are from this same area. The surnames I'm researching in Woodford Co. are: Bell, Taylor, Turner. Actually, my grandmother and her sister married two Carr brothers. Both marriages ended in divorce. I haven't done any work on these families as no children were born of the marriages.

As for your research, are you saying that your gggrandmother married someone who was nearly the same age as her father, who also carried the same name?

I searched the National Park Service web database on Soldiers and Sailors of the Civil War and found a Charles Black who served as a private in the USCT 115 Co. C. There were two other Black-surnamed soldiers, Corry Black (USCT 115 Co. I) and Henry C. Black (USCT 115 Co. I.) in the same regiment. If you haven't already done so, you might want to check the service and/or pension records of these three men for clues to your ancestors. Good luck.
